Applications: 
It is used in the synthesis of many hydrogels for biomedical applications. It acts as an adrenergic agent and primarily used as intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceutical and agrochemical products. Tyramine is also used as a key precursor in the synthesis of (-)-galanthamine and mesembrine.
